BranchéQC is a private lead-generation platform, not a public body. Climaref is a contractor / retailer : its starting price is not a market average. Other contractor pages publish different wall-unit ranges (for example ~$2,900–$8,500 at Climxpert). This site’s home estimator ranges (wall unit $3,000–$6,500, multi-zone $6,000–$15,000) also cite BranchéQC, but from different pages or dates: private ranges vary; the table above uses the current guide.
Why quotes diverge
✓ Independent source: Protégez-Vous, April 30, 2025
- Mystery-shopper survey: a spread of 9 841 $ between quotes for the same house in the Outaouais, and 2 067 $ for a Montréal apartment (ductless installs).
- Protégez-Vous recommends getting at least three written quotes.
- Door-to-door HVAC system sales are banned in Québec; the installer must hold the required RBQ licences.
Price also depends on the number of heads, the brand, refrigerant line length, the electrical panel, roof or yard access, and — for a central system — the condition of the ducts.
Net cost after LogisVert
✓ Checked against the official source: Hydro-Québec, LogisVert
- Up to 6 700 $ : 50 $ per 1,000 BTU/h at −8 °C (ENERGY STAR) or 120 $ (climat froid).
- Since November 26, 2025, the unit must be ENERGY STAR certified.
- Rénoclimat no longer funds heat pumps since May 1, 2024 (see the subventions). Do not stack closed federal programs either.
Illustrative example (stated assumptions, not a quote). If a cold-climate model shows 12,000 BTU/h at −8 °C in Hydro-Québec’s list: $120 × 12 = 1 440 $ of LogisVert. On a wall unit installed at $5,000 (mid private range, before tax), the illustrative net would be about $3,560 before tax. Replace 12,000 with your model’s real capacity at −8 °C and the $5,000 with your quotes.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an installed wall-mounted heat pump cost in Québec?
According to the BranchéQC guide (private platform, ~June 2026), a single-zone wall unit typically falls between about $3,000 and $6,000. Climaref publishes a starting price around $3,498.96 + taxes. These are not averages: get at least three written quotes.

How do I estimate the net cost after LogisVert?
LogisVert pays up to $6,700 based on capacity at −8 °C. Use the estimateur and cost analysis, then check the model in the Hydro-Québec’s list.
Do the published ranges include taxes?
Not always. Climaref states “+ taxes”. Ask for a detailed written quote.
Does Rénoclimat still fund heat pumps?
No. Since May 1, 2024, Rénoclimat no longer funds heat pumps. See also the subventions 2026–2027.
